REVIEW BY THE MOTION PICTURE GUIDE ANNUAL

A pleasant little film starring Calfa as a hip young New Yorker who arrives in British Columbia on his three-wheeled motorcycle and rides into the life of aging prospector Pleasence and his friend Reid. The youth persuades Pleasence to continue searching for his father's long-lost gold mine, much to the dismay of Reid who had hoped Pleasence had given up prospecting for good. Reluctantly, she joins the adventures and eventually they locate the mine and find a treasure in gold. While trying to extract the fortune, an accident sees the loot spill into a raging river, washing their dreams out to sea. The conclusion is not as sad as it seems because the trio have formed a deep friendship that has become more valuable than gold. A bit trite, but the film's real gem is Pleasence who obviously delights in his role and whose performance sparks the film.
