I DON'T WANT TO BE BORN

A review by Vincent Canby of THE NEW YORK TIMES

*** SPOILER INFORMATION ***

The week's not yet over but as of yesterday The Devil Within Her, which opened at the Penthouse and other theaters, stands a good chance of being Eileen Atkins exorcising the demonthe week's worst movie about demonic possession.

The British import, directed by Peter Sasdy, stars Joan Collins as a nightclub stripper who is cursed by a fellow worker, an amorous dwarf (George Claydon) whose advances she has spurned, to bear a devil-child.

One might rightfully hope that all hell would break loose. It doesn't; it just mopes around, although the possessed baby does dispatch his nanny, his mummy, his daddy and his kindly old pediatrician, played by Donald Pleasence.

The film is a smear to dwarfs everywhere.
